I am recruiting on behalf of my client who is seeking a high-performing Assistant Controller to join their fast-paced and growing organization. This role is ideal for a strong leader who thrives in dynamic environments and has experience with tight financial close schedules, large-scale operations, and shared service structures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the accounting team, including direct supervision of an Accounting Manager and multiple Senior Accountants.
- Review, approve, and ensure the accuracy of journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger transactions.
- Manage and drive the month-end close process, consistently delivering within a tight 4-day timeline.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal accounting policies.
- Support the Controller in managing accounting operations within a shared services environment.
- Coordinate with other departments to resolve accounting issues and improve processes.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to accounting staff, fostering professional growth and operational excellence.
- Assist with external audits, internal controls, and reporting requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Demonstrated experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with a revenue base of $200 million or more.
- Proven ability to manage and execute a month-end close in 4 days or less.
- Experience working within or alongside a Shared Services environment is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP, general ledger, and financial reporting best practices.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
