Description

  • Review project specifications and design documents to prepare cost estimates for laboratory fume hoods, casework, and other related products.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure accurate estimates based on project requirements and timelines.
  • Assess labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs to create competitive yet profitable estimates.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, material costs, and competitor pricing.
  • Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers for material pricing and availability.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards in all estimates.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing proposals, budgets, and contracts.
  • Follow up on bids and negotiate terms when necessary.
  • Provide support in resolving any discrepancies between estimates and final costs.

Profile

  • 1-3+ years of experience in estimating, preferably in the laboratory furniture or construction industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
