Responsibilities and Duties
Community Engagement and Partnerships:

    Cultivate and maintain strong partnerships with campus departments, student organizations and groups, and community agencies to enhance the reach and impact of health promotion and prevention efforts.Collaborate with campus partners to infuse well-being in various locations and spaces across campus.Connect campus partners and student groups with wellbeing resources on campus, in the community, and virtually.Develop, implement, and utilize an assessment strategy to identify specific student population needs, trends and gaps.Design, implement, and evaluate collaborative evidence-based health promotion and prevention programs and events that address key health issues relevant to college students, such as sexual health, healthy relationships, sexual assault prevention, stress management, nutrition, and physical activity, and achieve measurable outcomes.
Student development:

    Develop, implement, and evaluate collaborative workshops and trainings geared for student leaders (Resident Assistants, First Year Experience leaders, Orientation Leaders, and SHAW student workers).Provides direct delivery of health education to Towson University students.Recruits, supervises, and trains student interns, peer educators and graduate assistants in providing health and wellbeing education to students across campus.Ensures health education materials, workshops, and resources are updated, inclusive, and accessible for a diverse student population.Oversees the implementation and utilization of the Student Health and Wellbeing peer education program.
Other duties and responsibilities:

    Contributes to the development and implementation of marketing, social media, and awareness campaigns to promote wellbeing messaging, prevent unhealthy behaviors and foster a culture of wellbeingContributes to the completion of the Division of Student Affairs Annual Report as it related to Health Promotion.Contributes to the management of the Health Promotion and Prevention Education budget ensuring efficient utilization of resources.Serves on various committees as assigned.


Qualifications and Skills
Required:

    Master's Degree in a health related field (public health, nutrition, nursing, psychology, exercise physiology).Three years of work experience. Knowledge of current and emerging college health issues, standards and trends.Ability to conduct needs assessments and health risk surveys and analyze/interpret data to prioritize activities.Use theories and models of health promotion and behavioral change, particularly as applies to young adults.Experienced in the design, implementation and evaluation of evidence-based, best practice health promotion programs.Proven organization skills; strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, including public speaking, and ability to work as a team member and supervisor.
Preferred:

    Certified Health Education Specialist or National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach certification.
