Assistant Director of Surgical Services - Full Time, Days


Location: Fort Mill, SC

Schedule: Monday - Friday, Normal Business Hours + On-Call as Needed

Salary: $95,000 - $145,000

Sign-On Bonus: up to $20,000


Due to the level of support this position provides an active RN license is required


Position Summary

The Assistant Director of Surgical Services is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the surgical department, including personnel management, procedural oversight, supply and equipment procurement, and scheduling logistics. This role ensures smooth operations across multiple surgical units and supports department leadership in maintaining high-quality patient care and compliance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational oversight for OR, PAT, Pre-Op, PACU, and Sterile Processing.
  • Assist in scheduling, logistics, and resource allocation.
  • Supervise approximately 40 FTEs, ensuring efficient workflows and staff support.
  • Maintain organization and communication within a fast-paced, high-volume surgical environment.
  • Coordinate supply and equipment management to support surgical procedures.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and best practices in perioperative services.
  • Act as a liaison between surgical teams, administration, and support departments.
  • Participate in strategic planning and performance improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Education:
  • Required: Associate degree from an accredited nursing school with a bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field OR a BSN.
  • Preferred: MSN or Master's in a healthcare-related field.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum: Two years of progressive hospital management experience as a manager or full-time charge nurse.
  • Preferred: Inpatient OR leadership experience.
  • Certifications:
  • Preferred: CNOR certification.
  • Skills & Background:
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
