We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing to join our team in the healthcare industry. This is a permanent position that offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the care and wellness of patients in a skilled nursing facility. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing nursing staff, developing patient care programs, maintaining health records, and improving the quality of patient care. With your expertise in areas such as accident and incident management, infection control, wound care, and quality improvement, you will be instrumental in shaping our nursing practices and standards.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing department.
2. Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and OSHA regulations, as well as adherence to facility policies and procedures.
3. Oversee the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) program, ensuring its effectiveness and continuous improvement.
4. Manage accident and incident reports, ensuring appropriate follow-up actions are taken and documented.
5. Lead the infection control program, including staff education, surveillance, and reporting.
6. Monitor and ensure high-quality wound care practices are followed.
7. Supervise and mentor nursing staff, fostering a positive work environment that encourages professional growth and development.
8. Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care for patients in the long-term care setting.
9. Assist in the recruitment, selection, and training of competent department personnel.
10. Participate in facility surveys and develop plans of correction for any nursing service deficiencies identified.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
2. Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state.
3. Minimum of 4 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility.
4. In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations
5. Demonstrated experience in accident and incident management, infection control, and wound care.
6. Proven ability to lead and manage a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
