Position Summary
DESCRIPTION:
The Assistant Director of Graduate and Professional Programs Services helps develop policies, processes, procedures, and infrastructure for supporting graduate and online learners' academic success. The Assistant Director also supports the continued growth of graduate and professional programs at York College. The Assistant Director collaborates with graduate faculty and the offices of Enrollment, Communications, Library and Technology Services, Student Success, Business, and the Registrar to create streamlined operations for graduate and online learners.
OUTCOMES:
The Assistant Director's work will enhance graduate and professional students' experience in ways that positively impact enrollment, retention, degree completion and new program development.
Essential Functions
Assist with onboarding new graduate students: Collaborate with the Registrar's Office to ensure a smooth course registration process for all students. Assist new students with drop / add and other schedule changes. Collaborate with the Business Office to ensure prompt, accurate billing of graduate students. Collaborate with LTS to ensure that all graduate students get a YCP account and access to their courses in Canvas, ensure that graduate students' problems with online access and other technology are resolved promptly. (20%)Course scheduling: Enter graduate course schedules into the DCU, manage updates to course schedules. Submit information regarding faculty and instructors' programs loads and overloads. (15%)Manage existing tuition discount partnerships and help develop new ones: Connect regularly with existing partners, arrange info sessions (in-person at their workplace and online), collaborate with graduate program directors to attract new partners. Create MOUs with businesses, agencies, and nonprofits with opportunities to market our programs to their employees in exchange for tuition discounts. (15%)Manage adjunct / overload staffing budgets for graduate programs: Review budgets monthly, collaborate with deans on monitoring spending, assist with reconciling iDesign and WellSpan invoices. (15%)Manage the York College Career Academy: Help with promoting the program, onboard new users, address user technical problems, support faculty on incorporating YCCA certificates into their courses. (15%)Help onboard new instructors: relay information about attendance audit, warning grades, and final grades. Prepare and send adjunct appointment letters. Maintain a file of all Graduate and Professional Programs course syllabi. (10%)Manage Graduate and Professional Programs' use of Slate: Ensure that all graduate program directors have access to all that they need in Slate, train new graduate and professional programs' Slate users. (10%)Experience and Education Required
Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.Three or more years' experience in higher education operations, student services and / or enrollment operationsThree or more years of experience engaging with adult and / or online learners.
