General Position Description:This position provides leadership to create a campus environment that promotes civility and student learning. This position is the primary manager of the day-to-day operations of student conduct processes and oversees overall case management with guidance, support, and supervision from the Director, Student Rights and Responsibilities. This position also assumes a leadership role in the development and implementation of college policies, procedures, training, and education related to student behavior.

Description of Job Function:1. Serves as the primary point of contact for issues related to Student Code of Conduct. Receives, reviews, and processes reports on student behavioral concerns and alleged violations of the of Student Code of Conduct. Carries out initial research and follows appropriate process or response for a variety of situations.
Description of Job Function:2. Directs, administers, and conducts prompt, fair, effective, and equitable investigations of alleged conduct violations in accordance with Student Code of Conduct policy and procedures. Assigns charges as appropriate and coordinates conferences with students. Serves as primary conference administrator, facilitates formal disciplinary hearings, and communicates decisions and sanctions to students. Consults as needed with the Director, Student Rights and Responsibilities.
Description of Job Function:3. Compiles and maintains data on student cases and behavioral concerns; generates and disseminates reports on all case activity. Reviews and analyzes data to make informed decisions and recommendations regarding programming, policies, and procedures.
Description of Job Function:4. Provides developmentally appropriate, holistic support to students. This may involve referring students to appropriate services, both on and off campus. Identifies community resources and establishes collaborative partnerships.
Description of Job Function:5. Assists the Director, Student Rights and Responsibilities in developing and strengthening policy, procedures, compliance, and programming related to student behavioral issues.
Description of Job Function:6. Develops and delivers training to faculty and staff in how to respond to student behavioral concerns, which may include classroom management, high-impact practices/trends, and the Student Code of Conduct policies and procedures.
Description of Job Function:7. Educates students about behavioral expectations, responsible decision-making, college policies and procedures, and appropriate means of conflict resolution. Facilitates group information and skill building workshops. May develop and deliver classroom instruction on college success.
Description of Job Function:8. Trains relevant individuals on the Student Code of Conduct, procedural standards, report writing, student development, and conference guidelines.
Description of Job Function:9. Ensures that student conduct is administered in a fair, impartial, non-adversarial, and educational manner and works closely with the appropriate personnel in determining an effective response, consistent with appropriate laws and college policies.
Description of Job Function:10. Collaborates with various stakeholders to include faculty, staff, administrators, campus safety, general counsel, Title IX and Equal Opportunity teams, and others to resolve student conduct issues.

Directly manages assigned staff including conducting performance reviews and providing guidance and support to increase staff members' professional development and job performance and satisfaction. Trains staff on established procedures and communicates with staff to ensure implementation of initiatives.

Required Minimum Education:Master's Degree from a regionally accredited institution, or any equivalent combination of related education, training, and/or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions.
Required Field of Study:Student Development, Higher Education, Counseling or other related areas.
Preferred Type of Experience:Experience at a college or university setting in student conduct judicial affairs or student affairs.
Experience in student conduct or judicial affairs.
Experience developing and facilitating educational training and outreach to students
Experience in working with diverse student populations.
Experience working with Maxient.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations, college policies, procedures, and guidelines related to the Student Code of Conduct.

Ability to work collaboratively with the Director, Student Rights and Responsibilities and other units within the institution and community.
Possess a solid understanding of student development and counseling theories.

General Working Conditions:This job operates in a professional office environment and throughout the College's worksites and grounds. Within the professional office environment, the employee will routinely operate standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, keyboards, mouse, phones, photocopiers, printers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. The noise level in the office work environment is usually quiet and occasionally moderate.
While operating outside of the office environment, the employee may be exposed to elements including but not limited to wet/humid weather, extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and unpleasant odors. The role may also involve hazards or physical risks, which require comprehending and following basic safety precautions and may require Personal Protection Equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud. Typical physical competencies include but are not limited to remaining stationary, moving, ascending/descending, positioning self, reaching, lifting/moving objects weighing between 5-100 pounds.
