Summary
The Assistant Director of Admissions partners closely with one of Tulane's five schools within Newcomb-Tulane College to develop a recruitment and outreach plan that supports that school's goals and initiatives. As the school/admissions liaison, this position oversees related programs and/or special populations. Additionally, this position provides support to staff planning and implementing programs and events developed for specific cohorts on campus. The Assistant Director serves as a knowledgeable liaison with the campus partners that oversee those cohorts once they are enrolled. This position ensures that the staff is provided with the most up to date information on the specific programs.
The Assistant Director makes frequent public presentations to these groups describing Tulane University, its programs, and its services. This position conducts individual interviews with high school guidance counselors as well as prospective students and their families.
The Assistant Director is expected to independently research, plan, coordinate, schedule, execute, and evaluate high school visitation and recruitment programs in areas assigned by the Assistant Vice President for Undergraduate Admission, seeking guidance only when necessary. Each Assistant Director is also assigned responsibility for the initiation, execution, and analysis of a number of special projects. These tasks may include: creating and designing publications, editing and producing multimedia presentations, planning special events both on and off campus, coordinating the activities of alumni, parents, and current students involved in the recruitment effort, serving as a liaison with several University departments and/or college Dean's offices, serving on University committees, supervising operations staff and student workers on specific projects, conducting market research, or managing project-specific budgets.
Required Qualifications
•Bachelor's Degree
•3 years of experience in university admissions
Preferred Qualifications
• Master's Degree
• 4 years of experience in university admissions
