Job Description Summary / TWC Summary:

Under general supervision, the Assistant Director will be responsible for overseeing the Bullard Center's Solar for All project and assisting with partnering minority-serving institutions (MSIs) to develop community solar projects, best suited to the needs of the institution and surrounding residents across EPA Regions III, IV and VI.

This is a Grant Funded position.

Essential Duties Summary:

  • Program management and oversight of project day to day activities.
  • Enhance or develop structural procedures and templates to ensure the successful execution of solar, community engagement and workforce development projects.
  • Facilitate trainings, coordinate activities, and assign tasks among project team members and in coordination with external partners to meet project goals.
  • Monitor project performance, provide project reporting and analysis, and maintain a repository of project information.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders and members of multi-disciplinary teams to support project related objectives.

Hiring Range:

$80,870.19 - $103,109.49

Education:

Master's degree in Engineering, Urban Planning, Data/Community Science, Business, or related field.

Required Licensing/Certification:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • Strong research knowledge in environmental and climate justice.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.
  • An interest in policy impacts is a plus.
  • Microsoft Office Professional or similar applications.


Skill in:
  • Problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Multitasking and time management.
  • Both verbal and written communication.

Ability to:
  • Prepare detailed technical reports.
  • Communicate effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders.

Work Experience:

  • Four (4) years of supervisory experience, or a leadership role in an academic setting.
  • Experience in Project Management and Workforce Development preferred.
  • Strong Understanding of Energy Industry Technology preferred.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Limited standing and/or walking.
  • Handling light weight objects.
  • Using or carrying equipment.
  • Stoop, bend, or lift.
