Salary: $17.68 - $20.89 dependent on placementBenefits: Click Here to view Employee Benefit InformationUnion/Contract: Public School EmployeesReports to: Director of Nutrition Services or designeeJob Descriptions:Click Here to view the Assistant Cook Job DescriptionSalary Schedule:Click Here to view the Salary ScheduleJob Summary:This position will be responsible for completion of the following items in addition to those listed in the Job Description (see attached). - It is vital to the Summer Food Service Program that all employees have reliable attendance; preferably no more than four missed days, other than for CCS contracts, during the program.
- Repeatedly lift and/or otherwise move cases, pans of food, and other materials.
- Pack food properly for transportation to area schools, meal sites, and assist with deliveries.
- Assist in serving students by following USDA guidelines and ensuring that their needs are recognized and acknowledged.
- Operate kitchen equipment, mechanical dishwasher, and other equipment as needed.
- Ability to complete 6 hours of training annually as required by the USDA.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast paced environment.
- Must hold a valid food handler's permit issued by the Spokane County Health District.
- Must provide proof of immunization against Hepatitis A.
- Required to have a valid First Aid card including CPR and training for HIV/AID procedures.
