Purpose of Position:
This position is responsible for assisting the Corporate Controller with safeguarding the completeness and accuracy of the financial data of the company. Including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the Company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure the timely completion of month end close by creating adjusting entries, reconciling accounts and reviewing staff work
Lead the Company's SEC reporting process, including SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, etc.)
Conduct accounting research to prepare and keep technical accounting memo's up to date and work with the Corporate Controller to ensure proper accounting processes are followed
Work closely with the internal and external auditors to provide documentation timely and accurately
Prepare accounting entries for the Company's website, ensuring proper revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606
Manage two staff and oversee inventory, cogs, vendor management and accounts receivable
Qualifications:
Strong technical accounting knowledge with the ability to research and understand new accounting pronouncements
SEC reporting experience, either through public accounting or in industry
Strong knowledge of financial software and proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Experience in auditing, accounting, and corporate finance
Education/Experience:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
A Master's degree preferred
A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting/finance, preferably with some managerial experience
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Certified Public Accountant license required
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position will have two direct reports

Involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time
Specific vision abilities required by this job include near acuity at 20 inches or less due to computer work
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will experience a moderate noise level (i.e. business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic)
