Job DetailsWe are seeking an Assistant Controller to join our dynamic team.
The successful candidate will bring biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry experience, live in the tri-state area, and have experience working for a public company.
This position is remote with the exception of 1 onsite visit per month in NYC.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
3- Conducting variance reporting to identify and explain deviations from budgeted figures.
- Preparing and submitting SEC reports in compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Assisting with the preparation and filing of SEC forms.
- Working closely with the Controller to improve financial processes and systems.
- Coordinating with external auditors for annual audits.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of internal controls and financial policies.
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. An MBA or CPA certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Proven experience with month-end close, financial statements, variance reporting, SEC reporting, and SEC forms.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience working for a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company.
- Experience working for a public company.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
