Position Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accountant to join our Finance team as an Assistant Controller. The Assistant Controller will report to the Vice President, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and will play a crucial role in managing the financial resources of SMDC and its affiliates. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our organization. Key Responsibilities: Assist in monthly closings, including preparing and entering journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger analysis Support the preparation of annual budgets and year-end audit work papers Manage cash flow analysis and day-to-day accounting functions Develop and maintain effective internal controls and facilitate changes within the accounting organization Provide support for department heads, including financial reviews, grant compliance, and budget analysis Qualifications: Bachelors degree in accounting or finance 3 to 5 years of accounting experience Experience in a non-profit organization is preferred Proficiency in Great Plains and/or Oracle Net Suite Strong knowledge of MS Office Must be able to pass pre-employment testing and background check Why Join Us: Make a meaningful impact on the community.
