Reporting To: Vice President, Accounting

Location: Culloden, WV (On-Site; No remote work available)


Position Summary:

The Assistant Controller will aid the Vice President of Accounting in executing upon Service Wire's Accounting policies and procedures. Duties include management of accounting team, ongoing analysis of financial statements and trends. A high degree of professionalism, attention to detail and financial acumen coupled with a strong work ethic and positive attitude will make for the ideal candidate.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports and statements
  • Support month-end and year-end close process
  • Evaluate accounting controls and compliance by conducting internal audits and seeking reconciliations
  • Manage the accounting staff's work product including but not limited to for financial reporting, billing, collections, expense management, and budget preparation
  • Oversees preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets
  • Oversee weekly payroll processing
  • Audits accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit
  • Presents recommendations to management on short and long-term financial objectives and policies
  • Provides financial analysis with an emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
  • Oversee a variety of special projects related to boosting economic value of the company
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required, CPA preferred
  • 5+ years of related accounting experience
  • Proficient Microsoft office skills to include Excel and related computer applications
  • Proven detail attentiveness, organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent math skills and strong verbal/written communication skills
  • Awareness of internal control principles
  • Leadership experience
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Cooperatively interacts with members of various departments
