Seeking an Assistant Controller in Baltimore, MD for a premier metal fabrication company that specializes in architectural and metal fabrications for commercial and residential applications.
This candidate will work closely with the Controller, accounting staff, CPA, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulations. They will also help manage various aspects of financial management, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal control processes.
- Oversees entry of AP invoices and prepares the final process of payment to the vendor
- Assist in planning, directing, and coordinating accounting operational functions
- Support the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for accurate reporting
- Help coordinate the preparation of internal and external financial statements; Assist with external audit processes
- Runs, distributes, updates and maintains monthly WIP analysis with support from Controller
- Provide analytical support and financial information to aid in management decision-making
- Participate in the budgeting and forecasting process
- Assist in evaluating and improving accounting operations and internal controls
- Support accounting system improvements and software evaluations
- Help develop and track key performance metrics
- Assist in hiring, training, and supporting accounting staff as directed by the Controller
- Provide financial reporting and analysis to the Controller and corporate leadership
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment
- Familiarity with F.A.R and Cost Accounting Standards preferred
- Experience with financial software and systems
