Job Title: Assistant Construction Manager - Multifamily (South Florida)
Location: Miami, FL (and surrounding South Florida markets)
Overview:
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Construction Manager to support multifamily and high-rise residential projects across South Florida. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with at least 12 months of general contracting or field experience to grow within a fast-paced, high-impact development environment. You'll work alongside experienced construction professionals and development teams, contributing to the execution and delivery of quality residential buildings.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Construction Manager and site teams throughout all phases of construction, from pre-construction through final closeout.
- Support onsite construction activities by monitoring progress, documenting updates, and helping ensure timelines and quality standards are met.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and vendors to help keep schedules on track and resolve issues as they arise.
- Conduct routine site walks to track progress, reinforce safety practices, and flag potential concerns.
- Help manage daily logs, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation using construction management platforms (eg, Procore).
- Support the tracking of budgets, invoices, and change orders in coordination with senior team members.
- Assist with permitting, inspection scheduling, and compliance with local building codes.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, trades, and consultants to support smooth day-to-day operations.
- Participate in punch list walks, closeout processes, and securing TCO/CO as projects near completion.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 12 months experience working with a general contractor or in a related construction support role.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred but not required.
- Exposure to multifamily or high-rise residential construction is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
- Familiarity with construction documentation, scheduling, and safety best practices.
- Eagerness to grow into a leadership role in construction project delivery.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Procore or similar platforms is a bonus.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
