The Southeast Louisiana VA Health Care System in New Orleans, LA, is seeking a full-time Dentist to serve as its Assistant Chief of Dental Service. Highlights of this position include:

  • Competitive Starting Salary $210,000-$265,000
  • Work Schedule: Mon-Fri, 7:30am-4:00pm (other times as required)
  • Direct patient care with the balance as administrative (approx. 75-80% Clinical duties)
  • Perform specific duties within his/her approved scope of practice
  • Provide dental screenings, cleanings, X-rays, and fillings
  • Candidate will also provide specialty dental procedures like periodontal care removable and fixed prosthetics including implant restoration
  • Conducting performance appraisals
  • Responsible for overseeing dental provider's clinic coverage at local service level
  • Orienting and providing in-service training and education of all persons in the Service in collaboration with staff of other services

Additional Requirements:

  • Postgraduate dental education
  • 5-10 years of dental practice recommended
  • Supervisorial experience is advised
  • Prefer VA dental service experience
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. Non-Citizen candidates will be considered if a U.S. Citizen is not found
  • Full and unrestricted license from any U.S. State
