VICINITY CREDIT UNION POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Assistant Branch Manager
DEPARTMENT: Sales and Services
REPORTS TO: Edgard Ortegaray Jr

MAJOR PURPOSE: Ensures the efficient daily operation of the branch sales and service of the credit union, including product sales, member service, and security and safety in accordance with the credit union's objectives. Develops new deposit and loan business; provides superior member service and promotes a sales and service culture through coaching, guidance and staff motivation. Provides leadership, training and supervision to all Tellers and Personal Financial Representatives (PFRs).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Establishing and maintaining contact with Select Employee Groups (SEG's)

Directs the logistics of organizing and conducting SEG employee enrollment meetings, packages and promotes United Credit Union products and services

Works with Chief Retail Operations Officer and Marketing Manager to identify, and develop new products and services

Liaison for community involvement and development through chambers of commerce, school districts and other organizations

Cultivates relationships with key personnel at existing and new SEG's to maintain United Credit Union's position as a benefit to the Employees through In person site contacts and on-site presentations to groups

Represents United Credit Union at various events including, but not limited to, network functions, trade shows and performs public relations and civic and community events when warranted

Assist in the on-going maintenance and management of the sales culture established by the credit union to enhance product penetration, membership, productivity and membership awareness. Approve members and credit union transactions within authority limits

Attain branch goals in saving, lending, account relationships, transactions, profitability and cross selling goals

Supervise, coach, and develop staff regarding service expectations, policies, procedures, products, systems and credit union transactions

Facilitate regular team meetings focused on sales, service and product training.

Prepare Teller and PFR's performance appraisals and disciplinary notices as needed Support an environment that promotes providing a level of care that makes members feel welcomed, significant and engaged

Managing difficult situations with members and providing them with a resolution, information or additional options. Ensure quick and proper response to all reasonable members requests

Ensure audit controls are followed to protect the credit union from unnecessary risk & exposure

Support compliance with regulatory guidelines such as Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC and Regulation E

Collaborate in the hiring, training and retention of Retail staff

Meet deadlines and ensures that branch reports and tasks are completed with accuracy

Participate in community organizations and activities to enhance the credit union's image and develop additional business and referral sources

Develop and grow business and consumer relationships

Keep and open line of communication with Chief Retail Operations Officer

Perform additional job-related duties as assigned by supervisor

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent financial institution industry experience

At least one year of branch supervision experience

At least one year of Business Development experience

Knowledge/Skill/Abilities:

Excellent math skills and basic accounting knowledge

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Be able to work well with others

Trustworthy and ability to work with integrity

Exhibit competency in using current technology, such as computer, calculator, etc. necessary to complete required and miscellaneous responsibilities

Great customer service skills

Knowledge of credit union practice and regulations

Detail oriented and high degree of accuracy

Ability to problem solve and take initiative

Be reliable

Strong decision-making skills to effectively resolve member and employee issues

Ability to build morale and commitment to goals and objectives

Strong supervisory and leadership skills required to manage, motivate, and develop employees

Knowledge of all types of credit union services

Ability to remain professional and composed under pressure

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software programs

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Nature of the work requires prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing at a desk working in front of a computer and operation standard office equipment. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

The majority of the work performed will be in an office environment.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION:

Pay Range $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 USD per year. A competitive compensation and benefits package shall be offered to the selected candidate and includes the following: paid life insurance, health, dental, vision, retirement plan, paid holidays, and paid time off.

BSA COMPLIANCE:

Every employee is required to uphold the credit union's compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering policies and procedures. Specific functions within United Credit Union will take into consideration the awareness of unusual or suspicious activity that is relevant to the department. In addition to any other assigned training courses, online BSA and OFAC courses must be completed at least annually, as made available by the Training and/or Compliance Departments.

Must demonstrate a functional knowledge of the Federal laws, including but not limited to: US Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets and Control, Anti-Money Laundering, Right to Financial Privacy Act, the Bank Bribery Act, Customer Identification Program, Fair Lending, and Credit Card Act.

Comply with all United Credit Union policies and procedures to ensure compliance with such regulations.

Performs other duties as required with or without accommodation.
