Contact Phone:Contact Email:Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job:The Department of Public Health is seeking one Public Health Generalist Professor. Chosen faculty member will participate in undergraduate and graduate aspects in the degree programs of Public Health, Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, and/or Bilingual Health Care Studies as assigned. They will maintain excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service to the department and university. Candidate preference is for education preparation and career experience in the above-listed disciplines.
This position enhances the professional attributes of students; recruits, mentors, and advises students in both the classroom and practical environments; fosters relationships with health providers and organizations; collaborates with community partners to increase student engagement, internships, scholarships, and resources. Works as a member of a team to support all aspects of the department; and assists in maintaining and ensuring compliance with university assessment and program accreditation requirements.
The selected faculty will perform other duties as requested or assigned by the administration. Teaching expertise in the face-to-face and distance-based instructional formats are preferred. The appointment will require a 3/3 teaching load, and an on-campus presence during the week. Experience with accreditation support and program reviews may receive preferential consideration. Three years teaching undergraduate and / or graduate students in institutions of higher education in one or more of the program areas listed above is preferred.
Educational Requirements for the Position:Earned Doctorate from an accredited university in the U.S. in a related area of Public Health, Health Science, Health Care Administration, or Bilingual Health Care Studies is required. Qualified ABD candidates will be considered with the required doctoral degree earned by start date.
Experience Required for the Position:Professional experience in one of the above listed program areas is preferred; voluntary experience in these areas will be considered.
Other Requirements for the Position:Maintain excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service to the department and university; and other duties as requested or assigned by the administration.
