Assistant/Associate Counsel

Position Description There are multiple anticipated vacancies for attorneys to serve as Assistant/Associate Counsel within the Office of General Counsel Group, Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) at its offices located in Patuxent River, MD. The anticipated vacancies are expected to occur within the NAVAIR Headquarters Office of General Counsel Group and the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Office of General Counsel Group. Position Duties/Responsibilities You will be expected to counsel clients on the full range of government acquisition-related issues, including the preparation and review of acquisition strategies and other elements of acquisition planning.
You will be expected to provide legal advice on questions of fiscal law, and interpret applicable statutes, regulations, and policy guidance.
You will be expected to prepare and review solicitations, contracts, modifications and other contractual documents; competitive source selections; life-cycle logistics support; contract disputes, and claims and terminations.
You will be expected practice law predominantly in the area of federal procurement and manage challenging acquisition portfolios, including major weapons systems that are critical to the future of the Department of the Navy. Minimum Salary 82764.0 Maximum Salary 191900.0
