RECfinancial are proud to be partnering with a well-established Leicester-based business to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join their central Head Office team, commutable from North Warwickshire, and South Nottinghamshire.

The role of an Assistant Accountant will include the following duties:
- Preparation and analysis of monthly departmental Income Statements and departmental Forecasts and Budgets
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management account
- Support in bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations
- Process accruals, prepayments, and journals
- Assist in VAT returns and compliance
- Purchase ledger and sales ledger accounting
- Plus, transactional accounting duties, supporting the wider team.
- Balance sheet reconciliations and Finance commission analysis
- Plus, various other finance duties
Required skills for the Assistant Accountant:
- Transactional level accounting (accounts payable or accounts receivable)
- Basic understanding of technical accounting, including double entry bookkeeping
- Flexible in adjusting to and prioritising business needs
- Be an effective, confident communicator to all levels of management
- A willing and pro-active contributor to the wider team
- Strong work ethic and organisational skills, willing to go the extra mile
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in accounting software: Xero, Excel - pivots, look-ups and macros, Key loop is an advantage but not essential
What They Can Offer for the Assistant Accountant:
- 37.5 hrs per week, full-time
- Office based during probationary period/training period (first 6 months)
