Job Title
Assessment and Accreditation Administrator

Summary

The Assessment and Accreditation Administrator supports the Education Department in all aspects of assessment and accreditation. This position reports directly to the department chair. The primary responsibilities of the Accreditation Administrator (AA) are to coordinate the accreditation and reporting processes of the Department, including those for the Council for the Association for Advancing Quality for Educator Preparation (AAQEP) and Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE).

Duties and Responsibilities

Data Management
  • Manage all aspects of data system, including data collection, analyses, and reporting
  • Coordinate development and implementation of data management system
  • Coordinate ongoing accreditation processes for ODHE and AAQEP, including data collection, analyses, and report preparation
  • Handle all aspects of preparation for accreditation visits
  • Implement course evaluation process, including compiling and maintaining data
  • Coordinate continuous improvement processes in collaboration with chair, program coordinators, and faculty, including work plans with tasks, schedules, timelines
  • Assist chair with internal and external data reporting needs
  • Work with information technology personnel in updating and maintaining the data system
  • Serve on the university assessment committee Reporting
  • Assist chair with all departmental reports to meet federal and state requirements in a timely manner
  • Generate reports for both formative and summative evaluations of candidates on regular basis and as requested by chair and program coordinators
  • Assist chair and program directors with all aspects of academic program review to meet university accountability and assessment requirements
Training
  • Prepare presentations related to assessment and accreditation to inform faculty, staff and other audiences
  • Participate in accreditation-related conferences and other activities to remain knowledgeable about current regulations and procedures
  • Assist chair with departmental and university communication related to assessment and accreditation
  • Assist department personnel with technical support as requested by faculty and staff
  • Provide technical support to candidates on surveys and other forms of data collection for assessment and professional portfolios
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Education or related field
  • Skilled in data analysis and statistical software (SPSS)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and familiar with Google Suite equivalents
  • Conscientious and detail-oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships to enhance workflow and work quality
  • Interest in understanding and advancing John Carroll's mission to inspire individuals to excel in learning, leadership, and service in the region and the world
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three years of experience with program evaluation and assessment in higher education
  • Knowledge of accreditation processes and standards related to external accrediting bodies (CAEP) and professional organizations affiliated with the preparation of educational professionals
  • Skilled in managing and operating Watermark Insight data management products
  • Experience producing technical and evaluation reports
  • Demonstrated fluency in presenting data analyses and information to diverse audiences
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment needs of higher education programs in teaching, educational leadership, and school psychology
  • Knowledge of state educational initiatives

Normal Work Location, Hours and Conditions

This position works in person from our campus in University Heights, Ohio. University core business hours are generally 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. However this position will require work to be performed outside of normal business hours based on department operations and University events.

Physical Requirements

Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other office locations and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

Compensation & Benefits

Starting salary will be $43,888- $45,000, commensurate with qualifications.
