We are looking for a skilled and experienced ASP.NET developer to help us reinitiate and continue development on a web application that was previously functional but has been paused for some time. The application was built using ASP.NET (C ) and deployed on AWS, utilizing Amazon S3 for file storage.
We have the complete source code and project files, which are well-organized. Our immediate goal is to review the existing codebase, ensure that it is functional and deployable, and restore the application to its last working state on AWS. Once that is complete, we aim to continue development by resolving any existing issues and enhancing the application based on updated business requirements.
Scope of Work
Phase 1: Code Review, Audit & Redeployment
Objective: Ensure the existing application is functional, buildable, and correctly deployed on AWS.
Responsibilities:
Review and audit the current ASP.NET (C ) codebase and architecture.
Validate the build process, resolve dependency issues, and verify configuration files.
Reconfigure and redeploy the application on AWS (EC2, S3, IAM).
Confirm S3 integration and ensure the application operates as expected in its previous state.
Troubleshoot and resolve any deployment or runtime issues.
Document the audit results and deployment steps.
Phase 2: Bug Fixes, Enhancements & Ongoing Development
Objective: Resume and advance application development based on business and user needs.
Responsibilities:
Identify and fix existing bugs in the application.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement new features or changes.
Optimize performance and ensure continued reliability and security.
Maintain codebase using version control (e.g., Git).
Write clean, maintainable code and provide technical documentation.
Communicate progress regularly and ensure alignment with project goals.
Requirements:
Strong experience with ASP.NET / C development.
Proficiency with SQL databases.
Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM).
Ability to work with and debug legacy or paused projects.
Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Good communication and documentation skills.
Bonus:
Experience with DevOps tools and practices.
Prior experience recovering and enhancing dormant or legacy projects.
Compensation:
Compensation will be commensurate with experience and skill level.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $60.00 - $100.00 per hour
