Art Teacher - South Birmingham
Full-Time or Part-Time KS3 & KS4 QTS or Experienced Instructor

A secondary school in South Birmingham is looking to appoint an Art Teacher on a full-time or part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for visual arts who enjoys inspiring creativity in young people and contributing to the school's wider cultural life.



About the Role:

  • Teaching Art to KS3 and KS4 students, including general art, drawing, painting, and potentially digital or 3D work depending on your strengths.

  • Planning and delivering practical, skills-based lessons that allow students to develop their creativity and portfolio work.

  • Preparing students for GCSE Art assessments and supporting coursework where relevant.

  • Contributing to extracurricular activities, such as:

    • Running art clubs or enrichment sessions.

    • Supporting students with portfolio development for exams or external applications.

    • Helping to organise exhibitions and displays of student work around the school.

    • Assisting with whole-school creative projects, competitions, or community collaborations.



What They're Looking For:

  • A qualified teacher (QTS) or a confident Art Instructor with classroom experience.

  • Someone who is practical, well-organised, and confident teaching across a range of media.

  • Experience delivering the Art curriculum at KS3 and KS4 level.

  • Strong classroom management and a positive, supportive approach to working with students.

  • A proactive attitude toward supporting creative activities beyond the classroom.



Additional Info:

  • Start date: ASAP or after half term.

  • Days: Flexible - full-time or part-time (2-5 days per week).

  • Location: South Birmingham - easily accessible by public transport.

  • Pay: MPS/UPS or competitive instructor rate depending on experience.
