Art Director
We are seeking a talented and innovative Art Director to join our team on a freelance basis. As a creative visionary, you will elevate our brand image and enhance storytelling across all platforms. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced creative leader to make a significant impact within the company. In this role, you will oversee art direction, graphic design, and content creation while collaborating closely with our founder. You will play a crucial role in developing and executing brand-aligned creative strategies, working with cross-functional teams across Social, Digital, Ecommerce, Retail, and Marketing projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Own the overall look-and-feel, tone, and manner of creative projects, ensuring consistent and thoughtful execution that elevates the brand at every touchpoint.
• Lead the development of concepts for photoshoot campaigns from initial idea through to final execution.
• Collaborate with the CEO and VP of Global Visuals to set priorities and align team projects with company goals.
• Support the internal creative department by delivering innovative campaigns and platforms backed by solid creative strategies.
• Establish strategic creative solutions that enhance the consumer journey across multiple platforms while managing both direct reports and freelance support.
• Provide direction for design teams on branding elements including design tools, graphics, and more.
• Work closely with the Senior Director of Creative Operations to schedule and staff e-commerce shoots and special projects efficiently.
• Motive and lead a dynamic team of creatives, fostering a culture of innovation that pushes boundaries to create high-quality assets.
• Develop visual standards encompassing art direction, tone, graphics, typography, video content, and user-generated content.
• Enhance the visual experience of the brand while preserving its core identity across video content for social media.
• Stay ahead of trends in social media ideation to ensure the brand remains relevant and engaging.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
• 5-10 years of in-house Art Direction experience with exposure to various focus areas such as brand strategy, digital marketing materials, visual design, merchandising, and collateral materials.
• Demonstrated experience in leading and managing creative teams effectively.
• A robust network of industry professionals including photographers, stylists, producers, agencies, and freelancers.
• Able to motivate team members to achieve their best work while cultivating a high-performance culture.
• Capacity to make critical creative decisions promptly while remaining composed under pressure.
• Graphic design experience is advantageous.
• Understanding of digital marketing trends including social media, public relations, experiential marketing, emerging platforms, and the evolving media landscape.
• Strategic thinker with analytical skills to identify what drives results for the brand.
