Education Personnel are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Art & Design teacher to join a supportive and well-resourced Art department, commencing in September 2025. This is a fantastic chance to nurture the artistic growth of our students across a range of disciplines.
As a QTS Art & Design Teacher, you will be responsible for:
- Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons in Art and Design across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5, depending on your specialisms and the school's needs). This may include areas such as drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, textiles, photography, and digital art.
- Cultivating a stimulating and safe studio environment that encourages experimentation, innovation, and the development of individual artistic styles.
- Utilizing a variety of teaching techniques and resources to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure all students make meaningful progress.
- Assessing, recording, and reporting on student progress in line with school policies, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
- Contributing to the development and enhancement of the Art & Design curriculum and resources.
- Collaborating effectively with colleagues within the Art department and across the school.
- Maintaining high standards of classroom/studio management and promoting a positive and creative atmosphere.
- Contributing to the wider life of the school through extracurricular art clubs or exhibitions (desirable).
What We Are Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- A strong degree in Art & Design or a related discipline.
- Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for a wide range of artistic practices and techniques.
- The ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities to explore their creative potential.
- Proven experience in planning and delivering effective and engaging Art & Design lessons.
- Strong classroom/studio management skills and the ability to create a positive and productive working environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
- The ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with contemporary art and design practices.
