Position: Area Sales Manager Reports to: Regional Director of Sales

Job Summary:

The Area Sales Manager is responsible for attainment of assigned business transient/group/catering goals tied to the overall performance of the hotel. The individual will be responsible for effectively soliciting and securing new accounts as well as maintaining existing clients/groups. The Area Sales Manager will work in conjunction with the Regional Director of Sales to achieve the hotel's revenue and market share goals for the Hampton Inn Goldsboro & Best Western Goldsboro.

Responsibilities:
  • Effectively attain assigned sales and revenue goals
  • Clear understanding of the hotels' business operations, brand, and revenue strategies.
  • Proactively conduct solicitation calls, prospect, generate contracts and conduct sales tours.
  • Maintain accounts, contacts, activity, and business details using Delphi.fdc/Amadeus.
  • Clear understanding of hotel systems, RFP process, and brand tools.
  • Monitor production of all top accounts and evaluate trends within your market.
  • Maintain strong visibility in local community and industry organizations as applicable.
  • Assist with the creation of annual Sales & Marketing plans.
  • Attend daily/weekly/monthly meetings and any other functions required by management.
Necessary Skills:
  • Must have a valid driver's license for the applicable state.
  • Customer service focused while managing multiple tasks and being organized.
  • Creative thinker who is solution oriented and possesses strong negotiating skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities.
