JOB SUMMARY

The Area Sales Manager for Water Treatment is responsible for engaging potential customers to provide superior water treatment services tailored for boilers, cooling towers, and wastewater systems. This role involves scheduling consultations to present available products and services, assessing customer water system equipment, and generating service estimates. The manager will obtain water samples for analysis, either on-site or through the home office, and prepare comprehensive write-ups based on these analyses. The successful candidate will educate customers about treatment programs that benefit their processes, address any challenges they face, and sell essential water-treatment chemicals. Additionally, they will follow up with testing to ensure the effectiveness of recommendations and explain the results to clients.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Selling water chemical products and promoting their benefits to prospective customers.
  • Communicating the advantages of tailored water treatment packages and effectively closing sales.
  • Estimating service costs to address and rectify water treatment challenges.
  • Staying attuned to customer needs and preferences to refine sales strategies.
  • Providing accurate information regarding product details, pricing, availability, and terms.
  • Emphasizing product benefits through insightful analyses and technical expertise.
  • Responding promptly to and resolving customer concerns regarding sales and service.
  • Maintaining accurate customer records using automated systems.
  • Monitoring customer usage trends to optimize sales efforts and inventory management.
  • Inspecting and testing water system equipment to identify chemical changes and necessary adjustments.
  • Preparing sales contracts and ensuring prompt order processing.
  • Identifying and pursuing new customer opportunities through various channels, including business directories and industry events.
  • Completing assigned projects and performing additional duties as required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Required: Strong focus on customer service, excellent interpersonal skills, active listening, and effective communication abilities. Must thrive in a dynamic environment and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred: Strong critical thinking, persuasion, and comprehension skills. Mechanical aptitude is advantageous. Knowledge of chemical properties, processes, and safe handling practices is a plus.

EDUCATION:

Preferred: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.

EXPERIENCE:

Required: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in water treatment.

Preferred: 3-5 years of experience, with proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
