Area Manager - GSF FC, Amazon Fresh, UPN1
Area Managers are responsible for all budgetary, people development, and operations objectives of our Amazon Fresh Fulfillment Center. Additional responsibilities include managing and leading a team of Team Leads, coaching and mentoring the team to ensure performance objectives are met, building positive employee relations, and developing leadership bench strength within the Fulfillment Center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive creation of staffing plans, schedules, quality initiatives, process change initiatives, and other change/Six Sigma initiatives to enable their Functional Area and meet/exceed Business Plan.
- Set and clarify requirements and expectations for Area Managers.
- Measure performance, provide feedback, and hold Team Leads accountable for their performance and their departments' performance.
- Work closely with support staff (HR, Financial, Facilities, S&LP, IT Managers) to secure support and resources for projects and initiatives.
- Address operational and personnel issues affecting the functional area.
- Identify and surface issues with potential to affect multiple functional areas, proposing solutions to Sr. Ops, GM, or HR.
Focus areas include safety, quality, customer experience, and productivity:
- Review work forecasts and determine productivity requirements.
- Partner with other Area Managers to balance labor and ensure efficient shifts.
- Support safety programs and OSHA compliance.
- Lead process improvement initiatives and Lean tools.
Basic Qualifications:
- 2+ years of employee and performance management experience.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
- Flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience with performance metrics, process improvement, or lean techniques.
