CEG Posting on Behalf of Young Life

Young Life in West Feliciana Parish is looking for an Area Director who wants to cultivate a dynamic, thriving team that leads kids to Jesus-speaking the gospel in ways they can truly hear it. Our committee and staff team are committed to clearing the path so you can focus on that mission as much as possible.

It's filled with kind and caring people who love the Lord and actively support a healthy ministry. With top-ranked public schools ( in the state), abundant outdoor activities, and a strong sense of community, West Feliciana is a wonderful place for your family to call home. We've got more work to do here, and we're praying for someone who's ready to serve alongside us.

Mission & Authority

Through spiritual leadership and intentional management, develop the area team to fulfill Young Life's mission: introducing kids to Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their faith.

Spiritual Development

  • Develop a yearly personal growth plan that fosters a vibrant spiritual life including time for solitude, retreat, reflection, prayer and a sincere commitment to understanding God's Word.
  • Seek and maintain relationships and disciplines, in the context of active participation within the Young Life community as well as a church community.
  • Lead teams and individuals in spiritual development.
  • Ensure that the Young Life ministry in the area is designed and carried out with a dependence on prayer that takes place out of the overflow of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

  • Create a spiritual leadership plan for volunteer leaders, staff, and committee members in the area.
  • Recruit and train both full-time and seasonal staff to build the next generation of leaders that work effectively in teams, develop ministry strategies, and positively reflect the community.
  • Supervise, develop, and evaluate area staff, providing resources and experiences needed to implement the vision.
  • Engage in personal development activities such as participation in the mission-wide staff conference, additional trainings (e.g., urban exposure, regional trainings, continued education), and programs designed for personal spiritual maturity or professional skill development.

Resource Development

Fuel the ministry by managing events, major donor care, and public relations (branding):

  • Provide leadership to committees in identifying partners to own the area vision and budget.
  • Develop and lead the area's fundraising strategy and ensure excellence in communication to donors.
  • Engage in raising the necessary funds to carry out the ministry vision for the local area, keeping the area consistently in surplus.
  • Build the Young Life brand as an impactful resource for working with youth in the area via public relations, marketing strategies, and events that reflect the ministry's influence on kids and families.

Direct Ministry

Model and proclaim the vision of Young Life in contract work, clubs, campaigns, and camps:

  • Actively engage in all three levels of contract work.
  • Lead both a Young Life club and an effective ministry campaign, modeling excellence and servant leadership.
  • Observe and evaluate each of the school ministries in the local area on an annual basis.
  • Develop and implement ongoing plans to maximize Gospel proclamation.
  • Serve on a summer assignment each year, enriching Young Life Camps, Properties, or other Young Life locations.
