Stanhope Gate Architecture is an architectural practice based in St James's, London. We provide high-quality architectural services for private and commercial clients across various sectors, with a focus on residential and hospitality projects. We are seeking to expand our team working on exceptional residential and hospitality developments in the UK and overseas, and are looking for an Architectural Technologist with CIAT accredited qualifications. Candidates must be CIAT qualified with at least five years of post-qualification experience.

The successful candidate will be involved in most aspects of projects as part of a team, gaining experience across all stages, particularly RIBA Stages 4 and 5, including design development, technical design, coordination with consultants, preparation of Building Regulations documentation, tender information, construction documentation (NBS and drawings), review of shop drawings, and site inspections.

Essential skills:
  • Proficiency in Vectorworks or AutoCAD.
  • Experience in detailed and technical design, including delivery of tender packages and construction documentation, with drawings and specifications (NBS preferred).
  • Coordination of design with consultant teams.
  • Good knowledge of UK Building Regulations and Approved Documents.
  • Understanding of best practices in detailing and specification of building materials, products, and workmanship.
  • Experience in residential and/or hospitality sectors.
  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.
Salary:

Negotiable based on experience.

Additional information:

Our office is flexible and composed of versatile team members. It is an international, dynamic environment-about 75% of our projects are in London, with some overseas projects. We value multi-skilled professionals and avoid repetitive work.

The office structure includes one principal, three directors, three associates, and a team of architects, job runners, and Part 2 students, totaling 21 staff members, plus two admin staff. We manage 12-15 projects simultaneously, each led by a director and a dedicated job runner who oversees daily project tasks from start to finish, ensuring comprehensive involvement and awareness of project issues.

Regarding salary, it depends on experience. We seek strong, stable candidates with a consistent work history. Many team members transitioned from AutoCAD to Vectorworks with ease. We do not require prior Vectorworks experience but are open to candidates willing to learn.
