The Opportunity: Apprentice Engineer - Level 3 Lift Truck and Powered Access Engineering Technician Apprenticeship - AmeyBriggs

Contract: Permanent

Location: Plymouth

Salary: £15,704 in Year 1 (for Under 19s)

AmeyBriggs is a leading provider of asset management and maintenance solutions for the Construction Plant and MHE within the MOD. The AmeyBriggs 3-year Apprentice Engineer training programme offers you the opportunity to become a fully qualified Forklift Truck & Powered Access Engineer. Briggs Equipment Group Engineers fault find, maintain, service, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems across a wide range of Materials Handling and Powered Access Equipment.

The Impact you will have:
  1. Complete the 3-year apprenticeship qualification: Level 3 Lift Truck and Powered Access Engineering Technician Apprenticeship standard.
  2. Gain on-the-job experience, starting with shadowing mentors and progressing to performing tasks under supervision, then alongside qualified Engineers with work checked and signed off.
  3. Work will be carried out on customer premises and at AmeyBriggs workshop locations within your region.
What will help you to excel in this role:
  1. 3 GCSEs at grade 4 / C or Scottish National 5 Grade C or above in English, Science & Mathematics (or equivalent) - Desirable.
  2. Enthusiasm for all aspects of engineering, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic - hobbies, work, or voluntary experience, or topics studied at school/college.
  3. Basic IT skills: email, websites, text documents.
  4. Clear, polite, and professional communication skills, both verbal and written, to work effectively with mentors, line managers, customers, and team members.
