Responsibilities
  1. You'll be learning new engineering skills in installing, terminating, testing, and certifying network cable and fibre optic infrastructure components in a Data Centre mission-critical environment.
  2. Be trained to assist in the installation of floor-mounted communication cabinets and server racks within data halls, ICT blanking, and cable management tasks for hot and cold aisle containment operations.
  3. Instructed to perform cable moves and changes to existing systems as required. Work with engineers to learn how to patch data & server cabinets according to client spreadsheets, patching schedules, and cabinet layouts, ensuring all Add/Moves/Changes (A/M/C) are approved, correctly recorded, labelled, and reported.
  4. To work safely and follow Health & Safety requirements/regulations at all times.
  5. You will be an integral part of our delivery team, representing our business as the face of North.
  6. You'll be buddied up with an engineer to ensure work is carried out safely and to high-quality standards.
Qualifications

For development purposes, the following knowledge, skills, and experience are required:

  1. Knowledge or experience with structured cabling and/or fibre optics is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.

  3. Enthusiasm to learn and an interest in problem-solving.
  4. Self-motivated.
  5. Since you'll be in a highly visible role, strong communication skills are essential. Punctuality and energy in a fast-paced environment are also important.
  6. A SC Security Level Clearance check is required for the role; applicants must be over 18 years old.
  7. Existing SC Clearance is advantageous but not mandatory; it can be facilitated for the right candidate.
  8. Holding a full driving licence for at least 12 months is beneficial.
