We are currently seeking a full-time Appraisal Assistant at our Tomahawk office location. This is considered an entry-level position, although previous professional experience is helpful.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

This position resides in our Energy, Infrastructure, and Real Estate Division and will support daily operations and projects primarily in the Appraisal department along with possible roles within the Division. As an Appraisal Assistant, you will support appraisal operations and contribute to projects involving utility corridors, public infrastructure, conservation easements, and more. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Assisting appraisers and appraisal staff with real estate market research, comparable and subject property data analysis and entry, and narrative report writing.
  • Contribute to overall Appraisal department communication efforts by reaching out to internal and external clients and outside resources to facilitate project efforts.
  • Responsible for compiling draft and final appraisal and other documents, facilitating quality control efforts and managing incoming and outgoing communications and product deliveries
  • Responsible for new project set-up tasks and maintaining and updating department project tracking applications.
  • Other duties as assigned

PREFERRED SKILLS
  • Desire to develop a career as a supporting team member in the appraisal profession in a fast-paced and diverse consulting business.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred but not required and/or experience in a professional technical or consulting office support role.
  • Ability to work independently in varied settings with clients and other professionals
  • General knowledge of real estate terms, mapping, and legal descriptions
  • Superior written and oral communication skills
  • Competent with Microsoft Office software
  • Detail orientated with the ability to assure products meet quality control standards.
  • Current valid driver's license with personal vehicle suitable for potential off site research work (mileage is reimbursed)
  • A team player who is confident, respectful, curious, flexible, and able to work with other professionals in a growing, successful, and respected business
WORK ENVIRONMENT

At Steigerwaldt, we offer a Remote-Friendly Hybrid Work Model for our staff. The Appraisal Assistant position is considered a resident or office-based position with remote work possible, upon approval from the supervisor. The position is primarily office-based however daily travel, with limited overnight stays are possible.

COMPENSATION

Wage commensurate with experience.

POSTING DATE

May 14, 2025. Position will be filled within one to three months. Interviews will be scheduled throughout this time period. Expected start is early July 1, 2025, dependent upon candidate availability. Please note that these positions may be filled sooner, as there is flexibility in the start date.
