The Applications Specialist (AS) will work in teams or independently to provide day-to-day support of Venturedyne software and technology. Technology support includes troubleshooting, programming, documentation, and testing within established standards and guidelines. The AS will be able to wear many hats as there are ample opportunities for learning and growth at Venturedyne. The position provides one-on-one consultancy with users of the ERP Application System. Even though corporate has a "small company" atmosphere, you will be challenged and excited by the variety of the scope of work you will be able to perform for the 8 remote manufacturing divisions with their unique product lines. The sky is the limit for learning and growth at Venturedyne.
This position is at the corporate headquarters for Venturedyne which is located in Pewaukee.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: - Perform analysis and diagnosis of software problems for end users and recommend implementation of corrective solutions for ERP software on the IBMi.
- Function as a backup person for the IBMi Systems and Applications Manager.
- Perform analysis and programming when required to enhance or repair the existing ERP software.
- Learn and administer the divisional SQL Servers and the databases that relate to the ERP system.
- Learn and administer the MS Servers hosting WebSphere Application Server which hosts the Graphical User Interface (GUI) for our ERP software.
- Receive and respond to incoming calls or emails regarding software issues and training.
- Technical documentation and other related documentation in conformance with established standards.
- Maintaining proper backups using the BRMS (Backup, Recovery and Media Services) software.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED IN THIS POSITION Required: - Associate's OR Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field
- Experience with the IBMi (programming and operating system)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows
- Ability to perform independently or with a team
- Willingness to learn new skills and technology
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Desired: - Four (4) or more years of technical experience with the IBMi
- Experience with managing and troubleshooting software issues
- Knowledge of WebSphere Application Server, Microsoft Server, and Active Directory
- Knowledge of Frontier ERP Software
- Basic manufacturing and accounting knowledge
- Experience with RPGLE and CLLE programming
- SQL Server experience
- LANSA for i or Visual Lansa programming experience
- Experience with the Sequel Viewpoint BI tool
- Knowledge of the Operating System, Security and Configuration of the IBMi
- Experience with using .net over the IBMi DB2 database
