The Foundation seeks an Applications Manager in the IT department.

Position Summary:

The Applications Manager is responsible for managing and optimizing a suite of enterprise business systems that drive the organization's core functions, with a focus on Finance and HRIS systems. Reporting to the Director of Business Systems in IT, this role collaborates closely with IT colleagues, department stakeholders, and vendors to ensure that software solutions align with strategic goals and meet the needs of Finance, HR, and other departments. The Applications Manager plays a key role in the newly established Business Systems unit, contributing to the development of systems governance, application roadmaps, and release cycle management.

Position Description:

Responsibilities may include, but will not be limited to the following:
  • Application Management: Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the Finance (Oracle NetSuite) and HRIS systems, ensuring smooth transitions and integrations. Contribute to the implementation and management of Salesforce CRM.
  • Product Ownership: Act as the product lead and technical owner for assigned systems, creating and managing application roadmaps, release cycles, and governance processes.
  • Technology Partnership: Serve as the primary technology partner for Finance and HR, driving the successful adoption and utilization of Oracle NetSuite and the new HRIS system. Collaborate with other departments to understand their unique needs and advise on effective technology solutions.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with vendors and consultants, overseeing their performance and ensuring adherence to standards and specifications.
  • System Integrations: Document and monitor the effective data flow between business systems, ensure integrations are maintained and updated when needed based on applications release cycles and other changes in our technical architecture.
  • Governance & Compliance: Contribute to the development of systems governance, data governance, and compliance policies, with a focus on regulations impacting financial, HR, and PII data.
  • Performance Monitoring: Regularly assess the performance of business systems, identifying areas for improvement and implementing optimization strategies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Provide oversight and guidance for end-user support and training initiatives to drive adoption and proficiency.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Relevant certifications are a plus.
  • 3 -5 years of experience in enterprise application support, with expertise in ERP, CRM, or HRIS systems (Oracle NetSuite experience a plus).
  • Strong background in business process analysis, requirements gathering, and vendor management.
  • Experience leading change management initiatives and driving user adoption of new systems.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to manage relationships with vendors, consultants, IT teams, and business partners.
  • Thorough understanding of data policies and regulations, including those related to PII, financial, and HR data.
  • Demonstrated success in supporting, maintaining, and administering complex applications.
  • Experience designing and delivering user training for enterprise systems.

Mellon is committed to providing compensation that is competitive and equitable within the philanthropic sector. The estimated annual salary range for this role is $155,000 - $170,000. The amount of pay offered will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to qualifications, unique skills, credentials, or experience that is expected to impact the candidate's contribution to the role. We will also consider market data as well as the Foundation's internal pay equity framework.
