About the Role:

Powder Mountain is seeking an innovative Applications Manager to join our IT team at our headquarters in beautiful Eden, Utah. If you're passionate about technology's role in enhancing business operations and guest experiences, and thrive in a dynamic resort environment, this is your chance to make a significant impact.

As our Applications Manager, you will be the strategic leader and technical owner for Powder Mountain's diverse portfolio of business applications. You'll drive the application roadmap, manage critical systems (POS, PMS, E-commerce, Finance, Marketing & more), lead implementation projects, build strong vendor partnerships, and collaborate closely with departments across the resort. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring daily onsite presence to effectively integrate with our team and operations.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Application Strategy: Define and manage the lifecycle and roadmap for our entire application stack.
  • Provide Technical Ownership: Oversee the configuration, integration, stability, and support escalation for key systems (Axess, Toast, Sage Intacct, HubSpot, Shopify, PMS, etc.).
  • Drive Vendor Management: Manage vendor relationships, contracts, performance (SLAs), and influence product direction.
  • Manage Application Projects: Lead implementations, upgrades, and integration initiatives from planning through execution.
  • Collaborate for Solutions: Work with operational departments to understand needs, define requirements, and leverage technology to improve processes.
  • Ensure Operational Excellence: Maintain application stability and support readiness, especially during peak ski season.
What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in IT, CS, Business, or related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience managing, implementing, and supporting enterprise business applications.
  • Proven experience with core hospitality/resort systems (POS, PMS, E-commerce, Finance/ERP, CRM).
  • Strong track record in vendor management and leading application projects.
  • Excellent technical troubleshooting, business analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership potential and outstanding communication/collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work onsite at our headquarters in Eden, UT with hybrid flexibility.
  • Experience in the ski resort or hospitality industry is a major plus. Direct experience with Axess, Sage Intacct, Toast, HubSpot, or Shopify is highly desirable.
