Description
This is an Application Engineer position that is responsible for providing customer driven focus to process complex customer orders, inquiries, and concerns where a technical understanding of the components being provided is needed. The Application Engineer supports customers, maintains relationships with selected (key) clients and sales personnel. The Application Engineer works with Operations and Outside Sales personnel to support the sales processes and to contribute to customer satisfaction within the Combustion unit. The position requires ongoing communication with the team and customers to provide product information, and assistance to our strategic partners to meet bid deadlines.
Position Responsibilities: The Application Engineer is responsible for customer care and acting as a liaison in problem solving and resolution with the associated teams. Each member of our team is responsible for providing call resolutions to customers and suppliers and establishing customer satisfaction and loyalty. This position includes but is not limited to technical support and front-line service requests.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Pro-actively seeking more effective solutions to better serve our customer needs.
- Daily interaction with our inside/outside sales team and customers.
- You will use your technical and personal skills to assist our customers, many of whom are engineers, in making appropriate equipment selections.
- Participate in training sessions and meetings, as required.
- Evaluating and processing quotes for customer requests. This includes Distribution and Engineered Solutions quote requests.
- Quote follow up where needed and appropriate
- Understanding of basic products and services
- Develop and establish a professional relationship with vendors to meet the customer's needs
- Ability to identify problems and provide solutions
- Understanding of basic problem escalation procedures
- Builds and maintains strong internal and external customer relationships
- Supports Outside Sales and associated teams, ensuring their needs are being met and/or in managing client relationships
Requirements
Position Requirements: - 3+ years of experience with combustion equipment design and sales.
- Proficiently be able to read and comprehend engineering drawings, schematics, product specifications and product manuals.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills, excellent attention to details, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft (MS) Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to prioritize, process and manage multiple activities simultaneously.
• Engineering Degree, Mechanical or Electrical or appropriate experience required
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Enjoy working in a team environment
• Highly motivated self-starter
