JOB SUMMARY:

Messer Cutting Systems offers innovative software programs that effectively streamline processes. Our software solutions are the effective link between our customer's machine and commercial products. As the Application Support Engineer, you will provide technical and functional customer support of our various software applications through phone support and in-person & remote customer training.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Facilitate remote, in-house, and onsite customer training and support on machine operation, process optimization and CAD/CAM programming software
    • Remote, in-house and onsite training to customers requires an average of 25% travel, with the potential for higher levels as needed
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to develop new product lines prior to launching
  • Offer suggestions to enhance metal fabrication processes such as plasma, laser, oxyfuel and drill/mill operations
  • Manage enhancement and bug fix lists and test software after changes and upgrades
  • Attend trade shows to represent the company and products
  • Effectively communicate during extensive interaction with customers
  • Develop knowledge base articles and other training materials
  • Conduct equipment and software demonstrations and presentations to prospective customers
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure products are delivered on time and meet all customer requirements
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects and proactively maintain collaborative relationships
  • Support a global network by effective communication skills across geographic, cultural, cross-functional, and organizational differences
  • Other duties/responsibilities as directed by the manager

MINIMUM EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate's Degree in related field preferred
  • 1 or more years of related experience preferred automated machinery and metal fabrication
ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Experience with CAD/CAM Systems
  • Experience with CNC equipment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently, with good organizational skills and the flexibility and adaptability to work on multiple projects with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills required.
  • Self-starter with determination for completing tasks
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation is required
