Provides controls applications recommendations and answers application questions. Reviews building plans and specifications to determine what control is provided by the company controllers and what needs to be performed by others. Acts as a subject matter expert collaborating with internal engineering departments in product development, testing, and controls. Collaborates with manufacturer's reps, specifying engineers, contractors, and others to discuss existing or potential controls application features. Applies engineering knowledge as a subject matter expert. Assists in controls documentation and system design requirements. Supports application sales engineers in control sales activities. Collaborates with internal members to analyze opportunities and provide recommendations on control solutions. Provides input for modifications of existing and new products to ensure conformance with engineering design/specifications. Makes engineering decisions based on HVAC system design requirements.
Responsibilities

- Apply engineering knowledge as a subject matter expert.

Essential Skills
- Proficiency in Niagara, HVAC system, controls systems, Building Automation Systems, DDC, Tridiam Niagara, PLC, and HMI.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and 7+ years of experience, or 12+ years of experience.
- Subject Matter Expert in HVAC Controls Design.
- Excellent communication and consulting skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Work Environment
On-site in an office setting with rare visits to the manufacturing floor. Work on a team with 3 other applications engineers (level 1 and 2). The location is in the caves in Parkville, so candidates must be comfortable with this environment. The building is updated and modern.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $121000.00/yr.
