Job Description At Vilter, we deliver world-class industrial compression solutions for the most demanding applications that play a key role in enabling the energy transition. Applications Engineer is a technical professional, responsible for supporting Vilter customer enquiries, including selection of industrial equipment across Vilter's suite of products. The successful candidate will be a key member on the Americas sales team, responsible for growing and maintaining end-user, consultant and contractor relationships, striving to achieve Trusted Advisor status with customers and driving a strong preference for Vilter industrial gas compressor products.
As An Application Engineer, You Will: - Evaluate enquiries and create proposals for Outside Sales Team and customers directly, utilizing Engineering Tools / Standards to select Vilter products to best meet customer need
- Advance Vilter's value proposition and technical advantages through frequent visits to key stakeholders, tradeshow attendance, and industry associations
- Work cross functionally with other internal groups such as product engineering, marketing, product management, and sales
- Work directly with key vendors to identify & design auxiliary equipment as needed to support main offer
- Participate in New Product Development (NPD): Provide application/systems engineering recommendations to satisfy NPD gate tasks, represent the voice of the customers, determine field test requirements, support field test and review field test data.
- Prepare quotations based on project scope of supply and Vilter pricing standards
- Provide visibility of opportunity progress by serving as key member of Opportunity Management Team, including diligently updating CRM system as needed
- Other duties as business needs emerge
Required Education, Experience, and Skills: - B.S. in an Engineering plus (+) Five (5) years of related experience
- Knowledge of Biogas systems or relevant experiences, and Rotating Equipment.
- Excellent customer communications skills with experience working directly with EPC customers and end users on new plant design and development
- Customer-focused and service-oriented.
- Ability to travel up to 25%
- Work authorization in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills: - Bachelor's degree required in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, plus (+) Ten (10) years of related experience
- Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Systems
