My client is a is a global leader in the design and production of high-precision machine tools and automation systems for various transportation industries. This is across railway, automotive, and aerospace. Their cutting-edge solutions drive innovation and efficiency for manufacturers worldwide.

Their site is in the Albany area and rapidly growing. My client is hiring across several different teams and expanding the business model in 2025. They are expected to have a record year and start to service customers internationally as well.

Job Description
  • Work with customers' engineering teams to specify and configure machine tools and automation solutions.
  • Develop machining processes, including part fixturing, tooling selection, and cycle time optimization.
  • Program CNC machine tools and ensure the correct implementation of machining strategies.
  • Collaborate with process experts to refine manufacturing solutions.
  • Provide technical support, training, and process validation to customers.
  • Assist in machine run-offs, demonstrations, and post-installation support.

The Successful Applicant
  • Strong background in machining, automation, and CNC machine tools (e.g., mills, lathes, multitasking machines).
  • Experience as an Applications Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer in a machine shop or machine tool builder environment.
  • Proficiency in CNC programming (G-code, CAM software) and process optimization.
  • Understanding of cutting tools, workholding, and machining strategies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively with engineering teams.
  • Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
