Description Who We Are: At
MMT, our objective is to develop excellence in automation, machine design, material handling, and custom tooling. Each position contributes to the success of the company through accountability, responsiveness, and a solutions-oriented mindset. We are currently seeking an Applications Engineer to join our dynamic catheter and guidewire manufacturing automation site in St. George, UT.
The Applications Engineer's focus will be post-production machine testing and process development, onsite installations, and rapid prototyping and proof of concept for new opportunities. Additional responsibilities include tooling development support for design engineers, customer technical support, and process report writing
What You'll Actually Do (a.k.a. Your Superpowers): - Diagnose post-production machines like a mechanical detective-think CSI but with calipers.
- Travel across the U.S. and globe installing machines and training customers (passport required, cape optional).
- Collaborate with Sales to make sure what we build is exactly what our customers need-no more, no less.
- Help develop tooling that hits every spec, every time.
- Keep our technical documents accurate and useful-not just paperwork for paperwork's sake.
- Be a go-to tech resource for Customer Service and Contract Service when things get tricky.
- Use precision measurement tools to confirm that every part is just right (Goldilocks would approve).
- Develop manufacturing processes that customers can follow without needing an engineering degree.
- Stay in touch with customers during development-no ghosting allowed.
What You Bring to the Table: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in process development or manufacturing (bonus points if it's in medical devices or plastics).
- CAD-savvy (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor-you know your way around a drawing).
- Detail-obsessed but agile thinker-when things go sideways, you don't panic, you problem-solve.
- Comfortable with both domestic and international travel (somewhere between 20%-30%).
- Clear communicator who's just as good with customers as with machines.
Nice-to-Haves (but not deal-breakers): - Experience reading wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
- Report-writing chops-you know the difference between data and insight.
Why You'll Love It Here: - You'll see your work in action-not buried in a folder.
- Small, agile teams. Big impact.
- Direct application of design processes.
- Real mentorship and a chance to grow.
- Help shape the next generation of medical manufacturing-literally.
