Compensation: $60-67/hr W2, with potential for negotiation based on experience and qualifications.
Location: Candidates can work from Chandler, AZ; Pennington, NJ; New York, NY; or Jersey City, NJ.
Overview: Join us as an Application Support Engineer focused on the Risk Data platform for Banking and Global Markets applications. You will be integral in delivering accurate risk data and regulatory reports, supporting various Market Risk and Credit Risk functions. Your expertise will contribute to the consolidation and enhancement of risk sensitivity data critical for compliance and decision-making.
Your Key Responsibilities: - Act as the primary contact for business inquiries and reported impacts.
- Monitor controls and utilize alert automation for proactive problem detection and resolution.
- Develop tools and implement improvements for efficiency and stability.
- Manage release implementations and conduct post-release testing.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of supported business processes and oversee scheduled jobs to ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Troubleshoot complex system issues effectively.
- Analyze logs using UNIX syntax and identify data exceptions, utilizing tools like Splunk for searches.
- Execute troubleshooting commands to address performance bottlenecks.
- Participate in weekend on-call rotations (once a month) and provide holiday support (2-3 times a year).
Desired Qualifications: - Prior experience in a Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps, or Support Engineer role.
- Strong proficiency in Python, Perl, Linux/Unix shell, and SQL.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk and Dynatrace.
- Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Bit Bucket, GitHub, and Ansible.
- Knowledge of LeanIT or Agile methodologies, particularly with JIRA Kanban boards.
- Solid understanding of relational databases (e.g., Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server).
- Ability to support users with complex technical issues and data challenges related to applications.
- Willingness to work extended hours and on weekends as necessary to address high-priority issues.
- Familiarity with the Hadoop framework and exposure to UI technologies like Angular or React is a plus.
