Applications Engineering Manager
Location: Bay Area, California (Onsite only)
Team: 5 direct reports Industry: Semiconductors / Interconnects / Data Center Silicon
A fast-growing semiconductor company at the forefront of high-performance interconnect technologies is seeking a hands-on Applications Engineering Manager to lead a Bay Area-based team focused on PCIe and CXL solutions for next-generation data center and AI infrastructure.
This is a high-impact leadership role working at the intersection of silicon design, customer enablement, and system-level integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of 5 Applications Engineers focused on PCIe/CXL technologies
- Drive technical engagement with customers from design-in through bring-up and deployment
- Collaborate with internal teams (product, validation, silicon, and software) to ensure successful integration and debug
- Manage customer support strategy, documentation, and field engineering readiness
- Handle technical escalations and feedback loops from customers
- Represent the company in technical meetings and industry forums as needed
Qualifications
- BSEE/MSEE (or equivalent experience); deep expertise in high-speed interconnects and system design
- 8+ years of relevant applications, systems, or field engineering experience in the semiconductor industry
- 2+ years of experience leading or managing engineering teams
- Strong knowledge of PCIe Gen5/6, CXL, and DDR5/LPDDR5
- Hands-on experience with platform bring-up, system debug, and validation tools
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering and customer teams
- Experience with hyperscaler or enterprise data center customers is a plus
