SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Provide timely technical support on Bourns' magnetics portfolio to customers, FAE's, Customer Service, AM's, Distributors, and sales Reps. Coordinate all custom specials in assigned territory. Develop working relationship with sales and customer service teams at distributor partners and establish a position of first in class, high value customer service on magnetics products. Support the Magnetics Marketing team in building up relationships with key semiconductor companies in US to drive use of Bourns Magnetics on their respective reference designs. Identify and specify the product needs of the design engineers and ensure samples of all relevant Bourns products are in place for use by the reference design engineers at all times. Monitor the usage rate by the design houses and inform Bourns PMs so they can ensure products are in stock at catalogues and distributor partners. Identify and report market trends in the reference design community.
DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES (End Results Expected):
1. Custom Special Project
• Coordinate new Americas custom special projects with the AM's and FAE's in all market segments.
• Help to open projects and communicate with the Sourcer in BSPO and Project Engineers in BXL.
• Check worksheets, ask for more specifications if needed.
• Advise and support the technical engineer in order to prepare data sheets, tests data and samples.
• Calculate and help AM's and FAE's for quotes needed in coordination with the PM/PLM.
• Follow up on open projects for sample, price, and quote status.
• Back up the FAE's for running projects.
2. Technical support
• Daily technical support for the sales channels.
• Distributors and Catalogue houses.
• Direct customers, Reps and CEM's.
• Day to day questions from Inside sales and customer service.
• Check needs for sample requests and define quantity to release.
• Check Riverside sample inventory level. Coordinate with AmeriSamples to replenish stock if it is necessary.
3. Distribution and Catalogue houses
• Check inventory and scrap lists for part numbers in coordination with the responsible distribution people.
• Work out proposals for adding models or part numbers.
• Help to fulfill all the paperwork needed to get more units into this channel.
• Check web pages and provide updates on a quarterly basis - report deliverable.
• Check competition activities and react with proposals.
• New models and promotions.
• Put our products on "top" of the list when cross checks are made in "SAP" or other internal distributor systems.
• Provide a quarterly competitor analysis report.
• Training and visits where needed and requested.
4. Automotive
• Support the automotive sales force for technical questions.
• Coordinate AEC Q200, PPAP levels and IMDS submission where needed and requested.
5. Marcom
• Communicate specification changes and updates in order to make sure the Bourns webpage is correct, such as:
o Data sheets
o Material Declaration Sheets
o Competition cross references
o Parametric Search
o Design Files
o RoHS data
• Assist for new project launches on samples and technical data.
• Support and contribute to the generation of collaterals like whitepapers, application notes and product presentations.
• Reference Design houses.
• Build up relationship with the reference design houses such as:
o Power Integrations
o TI
o Analog Devices
o others
• Define models needed and push for a design in.
• Ensure sample stock of relevant Bourns' product is in place in all labs at all times.
• Check competition and make crosses, push our products to get on "top" of their lists.
• Do analysis of our products used and prepare lists to share with PM, FAE's and sales.
• Check availability on products with catalogue houses and coordinate with the PLM for additional needs to stock units.
• Coordinate support of design houses with FAE team and support FAE team with joint visits as needed.
• Feedback results and actions to the GM, PLM, and Market Directors.
• Address Quality Complaints and other related issues.
• Assist PLM where needed and requested.
• Attend QA related calls with customers.
• Gather important information from customer related to potential root cause of the problem.
• Discuss CAR reports with QA team and explain them to sales, CSR, and customers.

• Other team members within ECS.
• Market Analyst Magnetics.
BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
Graduation from a recognized four-year technical college or university, or equivalent education and/or experience with focus on Electronics. Courses in Electronics to supplement undergraduate degree.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
• Preferably five years progressive experience in similar position, if possible, in the electronics industry.
• Experience in marketing and sales an asset.
• Experience with design and development of power electronics an asset.
• Experience with power inductor and EMI filter design an asset.
OTHER SKILLS:
Knowledge in LCR meter, RF impedance analyzer, multimeter, oscilloscope, Hi 1 pot tester, DC power supply and impulse voltage tester.
TRAVEL:
Ability to travel to Europe required, and occasional visits to factories in Asia.
COMMUNICATIONS:
Excellent English required to communicate instructions and present ideas, concepts, and solutions to all levels of employees and customers. Any other language is an asset. Excellent written skills in English required to issue instructions and present ideas, concepts, and solutions to all levels of employees and customers via letters, memos, graphs, charts, etc.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Must be a capable motivator and possess the ability to effectively communicate, present and
recommend ideas and solutions. Success comes from the ability to develop strong relationships with the "engineers" internally and at our "customers".
EQUIPMENT OPERATED:

$119,642 - $186,940
