Summary:

Will-Burt is seeking an Application Engineer to join our dynamic team specializing in the design and manufacturing of telescopic mast systems. This role serves as a critical link between our sales team and customers, responsible for reviewing customer applications and identifying innovative solutions that align with their requirements. The Application Engineer will select appropriate products from our established mast portfolio, develop custom-engineered solutions and perform wind load analyses ensuring proposed solutions are fit for purpose. This position requires a strong technical background and a passion for solving complex engineering challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review customer requirements and technical documentation to determine effective and practical mast system solutions.
  • Perform wind load analyses to ensure product suitability and structural integrity for specific customer applications.
  • Collaborate directly with customers and sales team to guide them toward viable and innovative solutions using standard or customized products.
  • Design custom solutions when standard products do not meet customer needs, ensuring they align with engineering best practices and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Work closely with the sales team to provide strategic technical input on customer applications and proposal development.
  • Provide clear and accurate technical information, product recommendations, and support to customers throughout the sales and implementation process.
  • Coordinate with internal engineering, manufacturing, and product teams to ensure proposed solutions are feasible and align with company capabilities.
  • Participate in customer meetings, calls, or site visits (virtually or in-person) as a technical representative of the company.

Qualifications:
  • BSME degree with a minimum of 2 years' experience in product design or applications/sales engineering.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Preferred experience with Autodesk Inventor.
