The Application Engineer will join our CNC Manufacturing Client in Lake County, IL, responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of CNC tool & cutter grinding machines. The role involves conducting field service at customer facilities, particularly working with Straustak machines and understanding Numroto software. You will provide comprehensive support to customers both onsite and remotely, addressing inquiries and troubleshooting issues effectively, with expected travel of up to 50% within the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct field service at customer facilities for CNC tool & cutter grinding machines
  • Work specifically on Straustak machines
  • Provide customer support via phone and email, addressing inquiries and troubleshooting issues
  • Travel up to 50% within the USA, Canada, and Mexico to support customer needs
Qualifications
  • Experience with CNC grinding machinery, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs
  • Hands-on individual with a strong mechanical aptitude
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting, maintenance, and part identification
Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications preferred
Education Requirements Credential Category
  • Technical certifications in CNC machinery or related fields are a plus
Experience Requirements
  • Relevant technical field service experience with CNC grinding machinery
  • Experience traveling to customer sites and providing great customer service
