POSITION SUMMARY Application engineering is a challenging, yet creative position. Operating in a custom design manufacturing firm in the HVAC industry, the Application Engineer will incorporate air-handling, cooling, and heating components into a functional unit. They are responsible for the design, suitability, performance, serviceability and durability of the unit. Application of our units range from creature comfort in factory, gymnasiums, warehouses, etc.; to process units involved in beverage/pharmaceuticals storage, indoor agriculture, plastic injection molding, etc.
GOAL OF POSITION The Application Engineer shall be responsible for developing technical documents, competitive costing of equipment orders, and managing projects from order through production. They will coordinate with internal sales, electrical/controls, purchasing, and production teams to assure all customer requirements are addressed.
FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION - Read and interpret plans, technical equipment specifications, and inquiry documents
- Develop mechanical & piping submittal packages
- Coordinate product schedules with sales, control/electrical engineering, detailing and production
- Initiate order kick-off meetings and participate in production meetings as the engineering liaison
- Review fabrication drawings for conformance with Record Submittal
- Assist Customer Service inquiries (post-delivery) related to unit performance until resolution
EDUCATION - BS. in Engineering Field (Mechanical Engineering ) or 5+ years of direct industry experience
SKILLS & ABILITIES - Proficient in MS Office Applications: Word, Excel, Outlook
- Working knowledge of 2D software (AutoCAD )
- Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented and strong organization skills
