Vaco is actively seeking an Application Development Manager to support our client's continued growth in Memphis.

Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will bring a solid foundation in hands-on programming (Java, .NET, etc.), recent team leadership experience, and a structured approach to managing application development projects and diverse, distributed technical teams. This role is a blend of technical expertise and strategic oversight, suited for someone passionate about driving innovation while leading by example.

The position will not only be responsible for maintaining established environment, but also instrumental in driving upcoming transformation initiatives including software development, cloud migration, internationalization, and AI/ML product integration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and mentor a blended technical team of approximately 20 professionals including software developers, project managers, and systems analysts, across three verticals.
  • Provide technical leadership, architecture guidance, and hands-on support across enterprise application development projects using Java, .NET, and other modern technologies.
  • Lead the planning, design, and execution of scalable, secure, and high-performance applications aligned with business goals.
  • Oversee and prioritize multiple cross-functional projects with full SDLC ownership-from scoping to delivery-ensuring timelines, quality, and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Drive Agile development processes and foster a culture of continuous improvement using tools such as Jira, Confluence, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, vendors, and international partners to translate business requirements into technical deliverables.
  • Participate in and lead digital transformation initiatives including automation, cloud adoption (AWS/Azure), and platform modernization.
  • Support enterprise globalization efforts with a focus on internationalization, multi-language capabilities, and regional compliance.
  • Communicate technical strategies and project updates to executive leadership, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
